The Water’s Fine – why won’t they jump in?!

This Session Was Too Good to End There…

In October, we hosted a fast-paced, candid webinar that tackled one of the most persistent challenges in Microsoft 365 adoption: “Why aren’t they using it?”.  The topic clearly struck a chord – so we’re bringing the conversation to DWCNZ.

Despite well-planned rollouts, training, and support tools, many organisations still struggle to move from readiness to real usage. Our panellists didn’t hold back – sharing bold insights and practical strategies that resonated deeply with webinar participants.

Here’s a taste of what was discussed:

  • Emotional resistance is real: Adoption isn’t just about tools – it’s about trust, relevance, and autonomy.
  • Training isn’t enough: Workshops that uncover pain points and embed habits into daily work are far more effective.
  • Metrics need meaning: Focus on what people actually start, stop, or continue doing – not vanity stats.
  • Champions need support: Recognition, clear roles, and regular check-ins keep momentum alive.
  • Leadership matters: Change sticks when executive sponsorship is visible and invested.
  • Keep it simple: If you can’t explain it on one slide, it’s probably too complicated.

The conversation was rich with real-world examples, honest reflections, and practical tips – from simplifying workspaces to designing for diverse tech literacy levels.

You can take a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink!

Join Us Live at Digital Workplace Conference NZ in February

But we’re saving the best for DWCNZ!  We have a panel discussion on this topic as part of the Conference Close,  due to the overwhelming response to the webinar. We’ll be joined by expert panellists from across the DWC community- so bring your questions, submit them early, and join the conversation!

If you’ve ever asked, “We’ve done everything – why won’t they jump in?”, this session is for you. Expect new voices, deeper dives, and a chance to ask your own questions live.

Did you attend the webinar and really connect with one of the panellists?  Kirsty McGrath, Dorje McKinnon, Rebecca Solano, Sharon Connolly and Mathew Gilbertson will all be at DWCNZ as well so you can chat with them in person!
